The Emirates’ Story
The UAE is a global hub and a main gate for the Arab World where various cultures and ideas converge in an environment characterized by respect, forgiveness, coexistence, and humanity to create an unprecedented developmental experience that leads to the prosperity of the entire region.
The story of UAE Nation Brand:
On November 2, 2019, the UAE launched a national project to design and create the UAE Nation Brand logo that represents the country to the world. Through highlighting the distinctive features of the Emirates, the Nation Brand aims to share the country’s journey of development and progress as an inspiring success story worth celebrating and sharing with the world.
The Inspiring 49
49 Emirati artists and innovators, seven from each emirate, gathered to create a logo of the UAE Nation Brand. Painters, sculptors, authors, researchers and graphic designers came together in “The Inspiring 49” workshop, the largest-of-its-kind innovative national workshop, to design a logo that represents the UAE globally.
The workshop generated multiple designs, among which three logos were shortlisted. The “Emirates in Calligraphy,” “The Palm,” and “7 Lines” summed up the elements of the inspiring story of the Emirates.
Global voting
People across the world were invited to vote for one of the shortlisted logos through the official UAE Nation Brand website and social media accounts. The logos drew over 10.6 million votes in two weeks.
A tree for every vote
For every vote, the UAE pledges to plant a tree, across different regions in Indonesia and Nepal, in an initiative that reflects the humanitarian values adopted by the UAE as part of its efforts to improve lives across the world. The tree plantations also reinforce the Emirates’ commitment to global efforts to combat climate change and protect the planet’s resources, and contribute in enhancing the quality of life in underprivileged communities.
